919 Marketing’s Matt Vaughan Featured on PR Week
Holly Springs, NC – June, X 2010 – Matt Vaughan, social media strategist for full-service marketing firm 919 Marketing, was featured in a recent article by PR Week reporter Kimberly Maul entitled “Small businesses make big progress with social media.” The June 1st article provided PR Week readers with tips and advice on how small companies can jumpstart their business through targeted social media activity.
Within the article, Vaughan encouraged small business owners to maximize their presence online by contributing compelling content. According to Vaughan, “content is the number-one thing you need to have a social media campaign.” He also provided business owners with a strategy that would help them create such content, as he encouraged them to take several hours a week planning and creating content online and spend smaller increments of time posting the content daily, responding to customers, and, most importantly, listening.
“One of the biggest mistakes small businesses make when they begin using social media is that they try to engage before they listen,” says Vaughan. “If you don’t take the time to research where your customers exist online and figure out what they are saying about you and your competitors, then it is unlikely you will be able to engage with them effectively.”
PR Week is the leading title for public relations in the US as it provides timely news, reviews, profiles, techniques, and timely research for in-house and agency professionals. This is Vaughan’s first interview with PR Week since taking the helm as 919 Marketing’s social media strategist earlier this year. Feel free to check out the article here.
