J.R. Martinez is featured in this week’s issue of PEOPLE Magazine. The feature coincides with the five year anniversary of the war in Iraq and profiles families whose lives have been changed by the war.

In the story ‘A Different Kind of Strength’, J.R. shares details from his life before and after his injuries. He says that after struggling to accept his new scars from burns he suffered when his Humvee ran over a landmine, he soon learned that he was ‘kept on this world to help other people’.

Today, J.R. travels the country delivering speeches to schools, churches, business groups and veterans organizations.

‘There is no doubt that J.R.’s remarkable story of resilience will touch millions of readers at a time when so many are considering the impact the Iraq war has had on our nation,’ said David Chapman, CEO of 919 Marketing. ‘J.R. is a phenomenal motivational speaker whose voice needs to be heard. There is no better publication than PEOPLE Magazine to reach the heart of America with his message.’

919 Marketing introduced a PEOPLE reporter to J.R. Martinez last winter for this report. The story was four months in the making and can be found on page 84 of the March 31, 2008 issue.

The issue hit newsstands today.

In the last year alone, 919 has placed clients in national media outlets including the CBS Evening News, NBC Nightly News, FOX News, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, National Public Radio, The Sean Hannity Show, The Montel Williams Show, Ladies Home Journal, REDBOOK, The Boston Globe, The Washington Post and The New York Times.
